VIDEO: Colombia Tourism Chief Talks Open Skies, Increased Arrivals and Investment

Maria Claudia Lacouture, CEO of Proexport, the Colombia tourism organization, gave an exclusive interview to during a recent conference in New York City. 


With open skies, free trade agreements, increased investment and growing international arrivals, there was a lot to talk about during Colombia Week, which took place last week in New York City.

With a masters in Economics and Marketing from Cornell University, Lacouture has a clear vision of the potential for travel and tourism in Colombia. She speaks about tourism stats, Colombia’s biggest selling points, changes in air service and infrastructure, and an interesting marketing strategy in which Colombia partners with other Latin American nations to market to Asian travelers. 

Colombia Week brought a variety of journalists, tour operators and other companies to New York City.
