Trafalgar Unveils 2012 South and Central America Tours
Now is the time of year when tour operators unveil their new Latin America tour itineraries and travel packages for 2012, and among the most recent announcements comes from Trafalgar Tours, which has released its 2012 South America brochure.
The new brochure showcases 12 itineraries and eight pre- and post-extensions that take travelers to a variety of scenic landscapes and rich cultures in South America, as well as Mexico and Costa Rica. Among the highlights:
• Now offered as what they call an “At Leisure” tour with included internal flights, the 11-day Glimpse of South America trip remains one of the most popular picks for clients looking for a local perspective of Brazil and Argentina, according to the company. The trip includes a visit to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio as well as Iguassu Falls, and the itinerary includes days off for individual exploration.
• New from Trafalgar is a “Be My Guest” dining experience in Buenos Aires, during which an Argentinian family welcomes clients into their home to teach them how to make authentic empanadas and how to appreciate some of the region’s vintage wines. Participants also get the chance to try local specialties as they visit a chocolate factory and see how the cacao nut is transformed into Argentinian chocolate.
• Families eager to unlock the secrets of South America might want to consider the 10-day Conquistadors, Sacred Valleys and Inca Mysteries trip. Designed with families in mind, this new itinerary includes must-see highlights in Peru like Machu Picchu and the mummies museum in Ica. The tour also includes a traditional Peruvian lunch with a local family and attendance at an ancient shaman ceremony.
