The coronavirus pandemic is affecting the world in many ways. In this series of interviews with people I’ve photographed in Colombia, male models talk about how the pandemic has changed life in the cities where they live.

Enrique Rodriguez is a 31-year-old actor and model from Lima, Peru, who now lives in Bogota. “I’ve liked Bogota ever since the first moment I saw it. More than anything I like the green spaces — the city has a landscape of mountains filled with trees. That’s something that has always impressed me and that I like a lot. There’s also the people, the food, the culture; I like all of that a lot, too. Right now, while I’m staying home, I realize how important it is to appreciate what’s around us. Today, we’re all united to put the brakes on this pandemic, and we can defeat COVID-19.” Follow Enrique on Instagram.
Didier Orjuela is a 25-year-old software developer in Bogota. “Bogotá is set among the mountains, in a beautiful valley. I think the most beautiful thing in Bogotá is the landscape. Being such a large city, it lacks a transport system with a greater capacity. It’s difficult to build it in the mountains. But the construction of a metro and the implementation of the cable transportation system in the mountains — the Metro Cable — are already in progess.”
“The current mayor of Bogotá is a lesbian woman; her wife is a senator. to be mayor of Bogotá is the second most important position in the country and it’s an achievement for minorities that today we have a woman mayor and also belonging to the LGBTI community. It’s undoubtedly an example that anything can be done.”
“Currently we are in quarantine. But there are people who cannot stop working because of their profession, we can all help each other because the person who goes a job is afraid and cannot be at home. Also we do not know if any neighbor would be out of a job and starve. This is the time to show solidarity.” Follow Didier on Instagram.
