Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit is a popular vacation destination for luxury travel, and one of the best luxury hotels in the region is the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, a Mexico beach hotel with luxurious hotel rooms and suites, excellent service and amenities.
In this unfiltered travel video, I show the hotel pools, hotel restaurant and cuisine and also give a tour of the luxurious hotel room where I stayed (I especially loved the outdoor shower). lf you’re looking for inspiration for a luxury vacation or an indulgent Mexico beach getaway, this video is for you. You can also find my full hotel review in TravelAge West, where I write about Mexico every month.
If you’re looking for a luxury travel experience in Mexico, the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort should be on your short list of luxury hotels in the Riviera Nayarit. Here are 7 things to love about this property.

- The ocean views. People take beach vacations because they like the water, of course, so it’s no surprise that the St. Regis Punta Mita has made good use of its beachfront location. No matter where you are, you’ll likely have a pretty view. You’ll notice the beautiful ocean views as soon as you arrive at the St. Regis Punta Mita, actually, since the public areas face out onto a tree-lined, cascading fountain that leads out toward the Pacific Ocean. Spectacular.
2. The memorable rituals. St. Regis hotels and resorts are known for their luxury, service and traditions. One of the best ways to celebrate your arrival at this hotel is with a sabering ritual to uncork a bottle of champagne. In the hotel tour video, I show this festive welcoming “ceremony” as fellow travel writer and male model Ryan Young learns to do it himself.

3. The relaxation. There are lots of places to relax at the St. Regis Punta Mita, including a gorgeous beach that’s just steps from the guest rooms and suites. There are also three decidedly inviting infinity pools, which are ideal for stretching out and enjoying an expertly prepared cocktail.
4. The golf. OK, I admit it. I have no interest in golf. But I recognize that many people love it, and it’s a big selling point for anyone vacationing at the Punta Mita complex. Golfers might want to try their swing at either of the two nearby Jack Nicklaus golf courses.
5. The sumptuous spa treatments. It’s to be expected that the Remede Spa at the St. Regis is a cut above most hotel spas. I enjoyed my massage therapy as well as the peaceful moments I spent reclined in the lovely outdoor relaxation area.

6. Tasty experiences. Cuisine is another reason why people love the St. Regis. One of the hotel’s best restaurants, Carolina, is the only five-diamond restaurant in the Riviera Nayarit, and there are several other noteworthy dining options as well. I even got to partake in a hands-on culinary class, and highly recommend that for anyone who appreciates immersive experiences (and great food).
7. Outstanding accommodations. There are hotel rooms, and then there are hotel rooms at the St. Regis. With just 89 rooms and 31 suites set on 22 acres, the hotel has lots of space to spread out — a far cry from the crowded spaces and hundreds or thousands of rooms at some Mexico beach hotels. This is the place to go if you want space and privacy, accompanied by stellar service and amenities.
I fell in love with my spacious guest room — especially the large terrace and the well-appointed bathroom, which had a gorgeous outdoor shower that allowed me to appreciate the region’s warm climate even more (there’s an indoor shower and tub as well). Check out my hotel review video to take a look at my room.
