Wander Rooftop is the most scenic place for a drink at the new Canopy by Hilton Cancun La Isla, and the venue often hosts live music performances on its stage. Wander Rooftop is also known for its rather unique happenings; among the recent events to take place on the rooftop are a “dog meet-up” and a five-day yoga and music wellness retreat.
COZUMEL HOTELS WITH ROOFTOP BARS
Westin Cozumel
The Sky Lounge at the Westin Cozumel, just off of Mexico’s Caribbean coast, is billed as the tallest rooftop bar on the island of Cozumel. Located adjacent to the dramatic rooftop infinity pool, the venue serves an array of cocktails and snacks.

This downtown Guadalajara hotel, which had been part of the NH Collection chain, has been reflagged as the Doubletree by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico. It’s home to Piso 7, one of the best places to enjoy a rooftop view of the nearby cathedral and other historic buildings downtown. With its diverse international menu, the venue is an attractive place for drinks as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Vista Encantada Resort Spa & Residences

One of the trendiest boutique hotels in Mexico City’s hip Condesa neighborhood, Condesa DF offers rooftop views at La Terraza, a triangle-shaped venue known for its sophisticated cocktails as well as sushi created by Chef Keisuke Harada. The hotel is part of the stylish Grupo Habita portfolio.
Downtown Mexico
My husband and I have a tradition whenever we visit Mexico City: on the first day that we go to the historic city center, we stop for a drink at the rooftop bar at Downtown Mexico, another style-conscious property by Grupo Habita. It’s never crowded, away from the more touristy rooftops closer to the Zócalo, and has terrific cocktails.

Hilton Mexico City Reforma
I personally loved staying in a suite with a city view at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma, but even if you’re not staying at this lovely hotel, you can still spend some time at La Terraza Alameda, a go-to venue if you’re craving an open-air space to enjoy a cocktail while admiring the sights of downtown Mexico City. The venue hosts different themes on some nights, including Taco Mondy and Grilled Burger Friday, and the recently revamped menu also includes cheese platters and artisanal pizzas.
Best Western Hotel Majestic
The name Best Western may not be the first that comes to mind when it comes to rooftop bars, but the Best Western Hotel Majestic has a prized location on Mexico City’s Zocalo, the main city square. La Terraza restaurant offers excellent views of the square, the cathedral and multiple historic government buildings.

Westin Monterrey Valle
Located on the 11th floor of the Westin Monterrey Valle, the appropriately named Deck Eleven serves everything from craft cocktails to Mexican street food and sophisticated contemporary cuisine. The venue is complemented by an infinity pool and vertical gardens that create an interesting visual effect. The hotel is located in San Pedro Garza García, one of the key financial and economic hubs for the Monterrey metropolitan area, making it an important business travel destination.
