Should you travel to Mexico now? As the world faces new realities during the coronavirus pandemic, deciding whether or not to travel is a very personal decision — whether you’re planning a Mexico vacation or a trip to visit family just a couple hours from your house.
To provide a reality check on what it’s really like to travel to Mexico today, I teamed up with fellow travel writer, travel blogger and overall brilliant friend Meagan Drillinger, who runs the blog Drillinjourneys, for a video chat on YouTube Live — but if you missed the live broadcast, never fear: you can watch the full video here (or scroll to the bottom of the page if you’re reading this on the LatinFlyer.com Website).
Meagan does a great job of summing up the main points of the video in her latest Instagram post, as you can see below.

Like me, Meagan writes about Mexico’s tourism industry every month. And like me, she loves Mexico. Together, we make a pretty good team when it comes to providing useful Mexico travel tips and answering questions that travelers might have. Our goal is to help you make wise travel decisions as we all adjust to the new normal. As you can see from her post above, one of our main messages is this: you simply can’t travel the same way you used to, and right now, not everyone should even be considering travel to Mexico, or anywhere else, for that matter.
If you do travel, however, be responsible. Wear a mask, practice social distancing and do what you can to protect yourself and others. We’re all in this together.
We both welcome your questions and comments about Mexico travel. Feel free to contact us!
